Hi. We will be at DW on 6/ of my kids will be celebrating a birthday while we are there. I know that we have to show proof of a copy of his birth certificate alright? I would rather not carry the actual cert. Thanks..!

You can read the official rules about identification for the Free On Your Birthday promotion on the WDW website HERE. The rules state:

Proper valid identification would be a Driver's License including a photo, Government-issued Photo ID, or a Government-issued Passport. If you are under age 18 and don't have any of the above mentioned ID, an original or a certified copy of a Birth Certificate is required. School IDs or children security IDs are not deemed government-issued photo IDs and will not be accepted.

If you don't want to use his original birth certificate and you don't have a passport for your son, you would need to get a certified copy of his birth certificate, a regular photocopy is not acceptable.

I see that you live in Mississippi. If your son was born in MS, you can get a certified copy of his birth certificate from the MS State Department of Health for $15.00. You can find the complete procedure on how to obtain this by going to their website at and searching for a page titled "Application for Certified Copy of Birth Certificate." Other states have similar services.
