We are going to DW in October for my daughter's birthday. I was thinking about taking her to a character breakfast/dinner. I narrowed it down to... Chef Mickey's or Liberty Tree Tavern. Which One would you recommand for a (7,11yo)?

Normally I would have recommended Chef Mickey's. Chef Mickey's is very colorful, with a boisterous atmosphere. Throughout each meal seating, the characters will periodically dance in the dining room to a "celebration" song. Very festive. We celebrated my own twins' 6th birthday at Chef Mickey's, they were given a commemorative laminated placemat and a free cupcake to help them celebrate. (This was in addition to the cake we had purchased and the full dessert bar. We had quite the sugary day.)

But right now, I'm going to tell you go to the Liberty Tree Tavern. While this venue will continue to remain open for the long haul, beginning in January 2009, there will no longer be character dinners at the Liberty Tree. You'll want your kids to experience this little piece of Disney magic before it goes away. Plus, Minnie Mouse does look quite fetching in her colonial garb. Make sure you tell you tell your server that you're celebrating a birthday and everyone will make an extra fuss over your daughter.

Hope you have a great day!
