Going to DW in Oct 2008, staying at AKV. Had to be wait listed for one night of our 6 night stay. Have ressie at another DVC property for that night. Never wait listed before. Do you think I wil be able to get it? Do not want to move in middle of trip!

    Russell,

I think it really depends on which resort you are wait-listing.  Somewhere like Saratoga Springs, for example, will be easier to get in than Beach Club or Boardwalk.  This is true year-round to a certain extent, as those resorts are smaller.  However, it's especially true for your October trip because the Food & Wine Festival in Epcot at that time makes those properties extremely desirable.  That' certainly not to say it won't happen, but it will make it less likely.

That said, we are Disney Vacation Club (DVC) owners as well and we have wait-listed several times with great success.  In fact, I verified with my husband and he agreed that we've never NOT gotten our request.  (We just had 2 wait-listed reservations come through last month)  So while there's no guarantee, don't discount the possibility just yet either.

    Good luck!
