We're going to DW on May 24. Is the EXTRA MAGIC HOURS worth it? Do you really recommend it or not? We're first timers to DW. Thanks!

Extra Magic Hours are a free perk to anyone staying at a Disney resort. I would not use that, by itself, as a reason for staying at a Disney resort, but I would consider it with all the other benefits.

But are they worth going to? I would say, in most cases, yes! The evening Extra Magic Hours are a great time to see a park with slightly smaller crowds, as well as cooler temperatures. Morning Extra Magic Hours are a great way to get an early start on your day, and get a head start on the larger crowds.

    An important note, however.

As you are visiting in late May, you may consider avoiding whatever park is offering morning Extra Magic Hours. Why? During the busier seasons, like late May, you will find that a disproportionately large share of the overall Walt Disney World crowd will go to that park, obviously taking advantage of the extra park time. The good news is that if you go to another park not having morning Extra Magic Hours, you can enjoy slightly smaller than normal crowds!

    I hope that this helps!

    Have a magical vacation!
