We will be at DW in December ‘19, I’ll be 25 weeks pregnant with our 3rd baby. We want to do a surprise gender reveal at the MK using the Disney Photographers. What props are permitted in the park? Can we use the colored smoke sticks or confetti pops?

Hi Jennifer, thanks for bouncing by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

My favorite bear said, “sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart,” and I agree! I love babies so much that I made taking care of their mama’s the focus of my career, and I can’t think of a better place to celebrate a babe than at the Most Magical Place on Earth.

There are so many fun ways to reveal whether you are expecting a baby Donald or Daisy, but unfortunately, smoke sticks and confetti poppers are not allowed in the Parks. You can purchase blue or pink balloons in the Park, bring Minnie or Mickey plushes with you, or bring a onesie with the gender on it; the possibilities are endless! If you want to go BIG, T-REX at Disney Springs will light up their ice cave in pink or blue for you. (That’s like a color bomb on steroids!)

I recently saw the most darling gender reveal with Minnie & Mickey Mouse. The parents brought Minnie and Mickey plushes to their Character Meet and Greet. They handed an envelope with the gender inside to a Cast Member, who then whispered it to Mickey and Minnie. They took their respective plushes, and on the count of three, Mickey held up his plush! The parents were ecstatic with the reveal, and a fantastic DisneyPass Photographer was on hand to capture all the delight!

For other amazing ideas with a sprinkling of pixie dust, contact the fantastic Cast Members at Disney Meeting & Events. I’m convinced their motto is “it’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” You can touch base with them online or at (321) 929-7129 if you want a reveal created from pure fantasy!

Jennifer, I wish you all the congratulations. Best of luck with your reveal!
