Welcome Home, Kristine!
Thanks for stopping by with your question! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas is one of my family’s two Home Resorts as
Disney Vacation Club Members. There are so many things that make this resort special. Where else can you be exposed to the largest collection of African art outside the continent of Africa, or enjoy your morning coffee from your balcony while watching the zebra and giraffe munch on their breakfast?
Jambo House is a resort within a resort. There is
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge which offers standard rooms and suites, and
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House that offers Deluxe Studios, 1, 2, and 3 Bedroom Villas. Both the traditional rooms and villas are housed in the building known as Jambo House.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom - Kidani Village is a separate building next to Jambo House, but Kidani Village only offers villa accommodations.
While the rooms and suites of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge were renovated over the past two years, the Villas were given a refurbishment in 2016, and are not on the same renovation schedule as the standard rooms and suites. At that time the villas were painted, the soft goods and linens were refreshed, new carpeting was installed, and televisions and charging stations were updated. Those renovations are complete, and you can expect to receive a room that was updated at that time. The renovations on the standard rooms and suites that just occurred saw the beds raised for storage underneath, the carpets removed and replaced with laminate wood, new bed linens and headboards, new art, and other fun touches!
So while you should expect to receive an updated villa, I wanted to be sure you understood that those rooms are a bit different than the most recent renovations that took place at Jambo House.
If you have any additional questions, Kristine, please let me know. Disney Vacation Club is one of my favorite topics to chat about!
