Hi David!
One of the aspects our family appreciates with Disney Vacation Club is the flexibility. And you are right,
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort does look like a lot of fun! So you’ll be happy to know that you can use your Disney Vacation Club Membership to book a Family Suite there in either the Lion King or Cars areas of the resort. Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort feature separate living and sleeping areas, a kitchenette and can accommodate up to six Guests plus a child under 3. The elaborate decor is sure to excite children young and old with colorful furnishings and artwork, and even a dining table that becomes a bed!
Because Disney’s Art of Animation is not a Disney Vacation Club Resort however, the points allocation is a bit different. While you can book standard Disney resorts, the best value for your points while at Walt Disney World is to stay at a Disney Vacation Club Resort. To view points charts for Disney’s Art of Animation, visit the
DVC Member Website, and under Vacation Planning, choose Points Charts for the Disney Collection. For 2015, a Family Suite at Disney’s Art of Animation uses about the same number of points as a 1 Bedroom Villa at the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. For this reason, most Members choose to use their points at Disney Vacation Club Resorts. You may also consider booking a room at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort as a cash reservation and bank your Vacation Points into next year to save for an even bigger vacation.
However you decide to book your vacation, I hope you and your family enjoy the whimsical fun and decor at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort!
Wishing you Membership Magic!
