Hello. I have DVC points that expire in December 2023. Can I use the points to book a trip for January 2024, if I book it in June 2023? Do the points need to be USED prior to the expiration date or just BOOKED prior to the expiration date? Thank you.

Welcome to planDisney, Vanessa, and Welcome Home!

I am always glad to discuss all the ways to maximize a Disney Vacation Club Membership. We like to make sure we use every single Vacation Point each year; each Point equals precious memories to be made! Let's take a look at using your Vacation Points

If your Vacation Points expire in December 2023, your actual travel must be complete before December 31st, 2023. So you would not be able to use them to book a trip in January 2024. However, there are a couple of options. If you have not already, consider banking your Points into the next Use Year. That would allow you to use your Points in 2024. Points must be banked up to four months before the end of your Use Year. You may also consider depositing your Points to use with Adventures By Disney or Interval International. This extends the life of your Points to be available for future use. These deposits must be made at least 45 days before the end of your Use Year. I hope this gives you some options for using all of your Vacation Points!

Thank you for visiting planDisney. We are here for all your Disney Vacation Club questions!

    Enjoy making magical memories!
