Welcome Back to planDisney, Denise, and Aloha!
I am so excited you are planning a tropical escape to
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. As
Disney Vacation Club Members, we were able to visit a few years ago and it was the trip of a lifetime. Let's dive in a look at strategies for getting to Oahu.
We also traveled to Aulani from the East Coast, so I completely understand the desire to break up the flight. I have a few airport suggestions to begin investigating. Los Angeles International Airport, San Diego International Airport, and John Wayne Airport (Anaheim) are all Southern California airports that should have direct flights to Hawaii. You could then take a look at hotels nearby these airports. I have another possible suggestion. I have had friends actually fly into Southern California, stay two nights, take a day or two to explore
Disneyland Resort, and then fly on to Aulani. That way they have more time to slowly acclimate to the time change in California before heading to Hawaii. Plus you get to experience "The Happiest Place on Earth" before jumping on your Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride. If you think this option may be a possibility, I would look at
Disneyland Resort Hotels as well as
Good Neighbor Hotel options. I hope this helps you start planning your Aulani adventure!
Thank you for visiting planDisney. Enjoy making magical memories!
