Hi Nanette!
Welcome Home! Thank you for sending me your question! A lot of Disney Vacation Club Members are running into the issue of a very tightly booked autumn at the Walt Disney World Resort. After many canceled and delayed vacations, Members have
Vacation Points they want to use, and reservations can be hard to come by.
I have logged onto the
Disney Vacation Club Member Website and investigated availability for you. I am unclear from your question if you have any portion of your rooms booked or none of them? I will say that if you don’t have at least a portion of these rooms booked currently it may be challenging to get all three off the Waitlist, especially Deluxe Studios which are very popular. Then again, it never hurts to try! If you are just beginning your planning, your best chances for booking rooms will be at
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa or
Disney’s Old Key West Resort. I do see some 1-Bedroom villas available at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
Disney Vacation Club Members may place up to a
maximum of two Waitlist requests at a time. So if you need more than that, you’ll need to request just two, then if one comes through, you can add another. Perhaps you could book the 1-Bedroom, then put in a Waitlist request for the two studios.
If your Waitlist request comes through you can call Member Services to have reservations linked. If you have multiple small reservations that together make one room reservation for a longer stay, they can do this for you so you don’t need to move rooms. Or, if you can secure the three rooms you need for your party and you wanted it noted that you are three groups traveling together, Member Services can do this too. Unfortunately, neither of these types of linking can be done online, so you will need to call.
Let’s talk about other options, Nanette. Are you willing to consider a different room type or different dates? You mentioned a party of 8. Would you consider a 2-Bedroom Villa? I see 2-Bedroom Villas at Disney’s Old Key West Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa beginning September 17. Or if you were able to travel in August, I see lots of available rooms at both of these resorts! This might allow you to use your Vacation Points and you would have confirmed reservations and be able to start your planning, rather than having to be worried about a Waitlist request.
My last suggestion would be to sign in to your Disney Vacation Club Account regularly to see if availably has changed. Sometimes you will find a night appear that you might be able to snag quickly before the Waitlist requests are processed and you might be able to add a night this way. I have lucked out with this method on a few occasions.
I hope you can secure the rooms you are hoping for Nanette! Keep checking the availability, and set up your Wait Lists, but maybe see if August might work for your group too! Sending you pixie dust for that perfect room!
Wishing you
Membership Magic!- Kate
