we are DVC members since 1997 & have a trip coming up May2 - 9 but aren't sure we want to go into the parks. We don’t know if we’ll be back within the year to make sense to buy an annual pass. What could we do for 7 days on property instead.

Welcome Home Betty! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The first week of May is a great time to visit Walt Disney World, whether you spend your days at the parks or find other entertainment. Even without park tickets, you can have a magical vacation; enjoying the recreation and amenities of your resort, lounging around the pool, or getting out and exploring Disney Springs or Disney’s BoardWalk. Let me give you some suggestions for activities, entertainment, and dining during your stay.

Disney Springs has a wealth of entertainment from 62 dining options, 142 shopping destinations, and 22 attractions, shows, and events. After grabbing a bite to eat in one of the outstanding restaurants, you can catch Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil, the new show that debuts this spring. You can catch live music in several Disney Springs locations; House of Blues Music Hall, Marketplace Stage, and Raglan Road which features Irish music and dancing.

At Disney’s BoardWalk you can enjoy an incredible dinner at The Flying Fish and then make your way to sing-along with the dueling pianos in Jellyrolls or just stroll along the promenade stopping along the way to taste some of the yummy offerings like the Funnel Cake Cart while watching street performers.

I highly recommend you spend some time at Disney’s Riviera Resort either indulging in one of their European-style dining options, or strolling the waterfront promenade. You can easily get to this resort via Disney Skyliner, an aerial gondola that whisks you to your destination while providing stunning views; an exciting experience in itself!

If you do decide to visit the parks while you are vacationing, be sure to visit the International Flower and Garden Festival in Epcot; with topiary displays, exhibits and gardens, the specialty menus of the Outdoor Kitchens, and the Garden Rocks Concert Series.

I hope you find yourself spoilt for choice and have an incredible vacation!
