Hi Christina!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I think Disney Vacation Club Villas make the perfect home base during a runDisney event. We usually get a 1 bedroom or larger, so that I can have the full kitchen in order to make my usual spaghetti dinner the night before a half marathon. Even a kitchenette in a studio can be a perfect spot to fix your pre-race fuel. Since my family doesn’t run these events with me, being able to head to bed early in the master bedroom, while the family stays up to watch a movie in the living room has made these weekends more convenient for the entire family.
Which Disney Vacation Club Resorts are Host Resorts can vary, depending on the event. Usually, for Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, and for Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend, all resorts are considered Host Resorts, since these are very large races. If you will be running in Disney’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon in November, Deluxe Host Resorts are:
Disney’s Boardwalk Villas
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort
Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
Staying at any of these resorts during a race weekend would include transportation to all weekend race events, including the Race Expo. I hope this helps you with your planning. I have participated in several runDisney events, so feel free to ask additional questions, or
visit our runDisney mom, Faith!
Happy Training!
