We are DVC members, exploring 3 resorts for our next vacation. We are going to be eating many planned meals via our kitchen in our resorts. How do I keep my refrigerated items from spoiling, when check in for the next resort is not until 4 pm?

    Hi Erin!

It sounds like you are going to have a great time sampling quite a few of the amazing resorts that are part of Disney Vacation Club! My family has occasionally done a vacation like this, known as a “split stay”. In fact, we’ll be doing just this next week!

On the first day of your vacation, when you unpack your groceries, save the shopping bags. On the day you are checking out of one resort to go to another, carefully pack your groceries back into the shopping bags. I am sure to put freezer items in one bag and refrigerated items in a separate bag.  Once all of the luggage and groceries are packed, have Bell Services come to the room to assist you. Let them know when you call, that you are transferring to another resort and that you have groceries. Some resorts prefer to call the night before, and some prefer a call that morning. I always call the night before just to be sure and allow them time to plan.

Bell Services will then come to your room to meet you and take your items. They will make sure that your belongings are transferred to your new resort and that your grocery items are kept cold. Then you are free to enjoy your day at the parks! When you check-in to your new resort, simply have Bell Services at the new resort deliver your luggage and groceries to your room. While this service is complimentary, it is customary to tip Bell Services for good service. We have always been happy with the fantastic Cast Members at all the resorts.

I hope this alleviates any concerns you have about your food items, and helps you plan a more enjoyable vacation!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
