Hello Michael!
Welcome Home, and welcome back to planDisney! You sound just like me in that I always want to be sure I am doing the right thing, not making more work for others, or violating expected etiquette. I applaud you for asking!
Officially, there isn’t a policy on Guest dish responsibilities when staying in a
Disney Vacation Club Villa. While some other vacation ownership companies do have specific guidelines for check-out days, there aren’t official rules for
Disney Vacation Club.
From an etiquette standpoint, your fellow Disney Vacation Club Members would expect that you keep your villa in good shape. If you find anything not in working order, please let the desk know so the issue can be fixed before the next Member arrives. In terms of dishes, 1 Bedroom and larger villas come with a dishwasher and you will be provided dishwasher detergent, as well as a sponge and dishwashing liquid for a quick hand-wash. In the world of Covid-19, I would run the dishwasher on all dishes my family used during our stay. We usually load the dishwasher with the dishes we have used as we are getting ready to depart in the morning and start the washer so Mousekeeping doesn’t have to. This helps them to get the room turned over faster and ready for the next Guest.
In Deluxe Studios, the dishes are disposable, and there should be a trash room available on each floor so you can dispose of your trash appropriately. It would be good manners to wash your coffee pot with hot soapy water if your family used it. Deluxe Studios are also provided with dishwashing liquid and a small sponge.
I hope this information is helpful, Michael. I also hope you are staying warm and cozy on this very cold weekend here in the midwest! I am bundled up inside on this freezing Indiana day and dreaming of that next Disney Vacation Club vacation!
Wishing you Membership Magic!
