Hi Julie!
Welcome Home! It sounds like you have already heard that the sales of new
Walt Disney World Annual Passes have been paused. At this time, sales have not yet resumed for either the general public or
Disney Vacation Club Members. Current Annual Passholders may renew their passes.
There are a few exceptions to the pause of new sales. Children turning three years old, who have a guardian that is a current Annual Passholder may purchase a new Annual Pass so that the child may continue to accompany their guardian to the parks. If you were an Annual Passholder last year, and had an active Annual Pass before the park closure, but canceled your Annual Pass due to Covid-19, you may also contact Disney Ticketing and make a request. Requests will be looked at on a case-by-case basis for the opportunity to purchase a new Annual Pass.
With a trip coming up soon, I would recommend you purchase theme park tickets now so that you can book your required
Disney Park Pass Reservations. Once park hours open for July, I expect Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park Pass Reservations to book quickly. Looking at the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar, June is already mostly booked for Hollywood Studios. If the sales of Annual Passes resumed before your visit, you could use the value of the theme park tickets you purchased toward an Annual Pass. If you will be using your Disney Vacation Club Membership and staying at least 4 nights, you might be eligible for the current ticket promotion, where the purchase of a 4-Day ticket gets you 2 additional days in the theme parks!
At this point, we simply have to wait for an announcement from Disney as to when sales will resume. I recommend following the
Disney Parks Blog, Disney Vacation Club, and Walt Disney World on social media sites to see the latest news and announcements.
Wishing you
Membership Magic!- Kate
