Ahoy Claire!
Thanks for sailing by with this question. I'm more than happy to help as you prepare for your cruise on
Disney Wish this summer. We sailed on this stunning ship for the first time in April and were so impressed by the beautiful décor and exquisite details at every turn. This was also our first sailing as
Disney Vacation Club members, and we were thrilled to find a "Welcome Home" ear magnet waiting on our stateroom door. It's now proudly displayed on my fridge back home as a happy reminder of our recent cruise and new DVC membership.
My family arrived from Walt Disney World Resort on our embarkation day and the
boarding process was already underway when we entered the terminal at
Port Canaveral. Since we completed our
online check-in prior to sailing we just made a quick stop to verify our
travel documentation before heading to the security screening area. There were different documentation kiosks available depending on your
Castaway Club level, but I don't remember seeing a designated DVC line.
I reached out to a Disney Cruise Line Cast Member just to confirm, and she let me know that a dedicated check-in area is not offered for DVC members at this time. I don't think this will cause much of a delay for you since we didn't have to make any additional stops before being allowed to board. I found the terminal to be pretty empty once we arrived and were ready to walk through those iconic yellow Mickey ears toward the ship. Your Key to the World Cards will be waiting at your stateroom once you're allowed to access those guest areas on the ship. We found ours in a sealed envelope tucked behind the nautical accents affectionately referred to as fish extenders.
When it comes to your specific boarding time, all guests and all Castaway Club levels are required to select a Port Arrival time as part of the online check-in process. Unfortunately, you will not be permitted in the terminal or parking areas before your scheduled time. You'll be assigned a boarding group number during this process and once your group number is called you'll be free to board the ship and start taking advantage of all the fun that awaits. It was a little chilly and windy at the start of our cruise so we opted for lunch at
Marcelline Market, instead of the pool deck, once we boarded. We really enjoyed the menu options and loved the variety of seating areas and the specialty coffee bar here- a great one-stop shop!
Claire, I hope this was helpful. If we can answer any additional questions please don't hesitate to visit us again.
"Sea" you real soon,
Amy
