    When during the year does Disney usually offer the free dining plan? I want to book my vacation based on that imformation for next year. If I'm able to get the free plan, can I get a deluxe plan and pay the difference? Thank you!

    Hi Bill!

    Disney's free dining promotion is one of their most popular special offers released at various times throughout the year.  Last year, free dining was offered at several times throughout the year, from January to March and August through December, black out dates and exclusions applied.  This year, Disney has changed their "method" of sorts, and has only offered free dining for select dates in September only.  If you are planning a vacation for the month of September, you might be in luck to score a free dining reservation, but there is no guarantee that they will offer anything for that time period.

    If you book a vacation package with a free dining promotion, you can absolutely upgrade to the deluxe dining plan.  You will be required to pay the cost difference between the basic plan and deluxe plan, which, at today's pricing, is $45.33 per adult per day, and $10.75 per child per day.
