During our upcoming Oct trip we are planning on taking advantage of the evening Extra Magic Hours. Do they still give out the wristbands and do you need to arrive at that park before the normal hours end ?

If you are a Disney resort guest, you can enter the theme parks at any point during Extra Magic Hours. There is no need to be there prior to the start of EMH.

As an environmental measure, wristbands are no longer distributed for Extra Magic time. To get into the park during EMH, you'll need to use your park admission ticket AND show you Key to the World room key to prove that you are indeed a Disney resort guest. You should keep the Key card handy because you will be asked to show this again when you go on various rides throughout the park.

Enjoy your stay at Walt Disney World!
