Hiya, Molly! It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you, our guest!
While
Walt Disney World does offer some really extensive
transportation options, with three grandkids under 5, I totally understand the need to just call a rideshare service to get things moving. Calling a rideshare service is a quick way to get where you need to go, especially if you're traveling off of Disney property.
In Florida, taxis and other rideshare-type services are exempt from the car seat laws, as are shuttle buses. It is up to the parents to ensure the safety of their children. I will say, however, that although they are not required to be in a car seat, some rideshare drivers and taxi drivers won't ride with children that are car seat age, so make sure your driver will transport children without car seats if you decide to go that route.
Uber does have an Uber Car Seat service, which will provide one car seat. I also want to highly recommend Disney's
Minnie Van Service. The service, which has been on hiatus, returns later this month, and they provide transportation from the
Disney Resorts Collection hotels to other spots throughout Walt Disney World. The Minnie Vans work through the Lyft app on your smartphone, and they are equipped with two car seats.
I hope this helps you to plan your upcoming visit a little better, Molly! If you need us again, we're right here waiting.
Anna
