Hey there, Bonnie! Thanks so much for cruising on by to visit with us!
Disney Cruise Line has changed its
online check-in procedures recently, so I'm glad you asked this question. You will need to choose your own photo to upload to the website when you check in.
If you've cruised before, you'll remember that they used to take these photos at the port. Now, you'll either take a selfie at home or use a photo you already have. It has to be taken from the shoulders up, with you looking directly at the camera. You can use your own webcam, but there isn't a place within the check-in process to snap a photo.
Make sure you use a color photo, no filters, and only you in the photo. Also, you can't be wearing hats or sunglasses, or even regular glasses if they hide your eyes in any way. Think driver's license type of photo, but don't use your government-issued photo ID picture.
You're also going to have to take a photo of your passport to upload. This is way harder than it sounds. You can't have a glare on the picture, so make sure you don't have any light shining on the passport booklet when you take the photo. Get all of the information in the picture - especially your passport number. I find it easier to have an extra set of hands helping me with this, holding the booklet open so I can get a good picture.
Just a few more weeks, Bonnie, and you'll be on your way to your high seas adventure! I hope it's everything you're hoping it will be!
