Welcome to planDisney, Jake! You'll arrive at my favorite galaxy in the universe,
Walt Disney World Resort, in just a few days, and you're considering purchasing a ticket to
Disney After Hours at EPCOT. This is shaping up to be a magical visit! Let's look at the procedure for riding
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind while you're there. As Blondie sings on the attraction, you'll save the galaxy "one way or another!"
I spoke to a friendly Cast Member who said the tentative plan is to have a stand-by queue only during the event hours. So, starting at 10:00 on event nights, only guests with tickets to the Disney After Hours event can join a stand-by line at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Since crowds are lower during these events, the wait time shouldn't be too long. The event lasts three hours, so you can probably ride it more than once, depending on how many other EPCOT Terrans want to ride. The Cast Member cautioned that the procedure could change and a virtual queue could be set up to help manage the wait, so I'd advise being prepared for any situation, just like Star-Lord!
Jake, I attended a Disney After Hours event last year, and it was a blast. We experienced many attractions, but those three hours went by very quickly. My top tip for these events is to have a game plan in mind so you'll get the most out of your time. For example, if Guardians of the Galaxy is your priority, that's where you'd spend most of the event. Your event ticket allows you to enter the park at 7:00 PM, allowing you time to explore the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival topiaries and exclusive food and drink offerings until the event begins.
I'd love to say, "One day, maybe next week, I'm gonna meet you-meet you-meet you," but I won't be at the Most Magical Place on Earth. I know you'll have a rocking good time, Jake. And please
stop by planDisney anytime because we are Groot!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
