During covid they took away the option to pass on housekeeping and get a $10 gift card in it's place. Has that option returned? We used this option back in 2019 but not 2021 going in October so wondering if it was brought back?

    Hiya Amie!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for bringing your question our way.

You must be thrilled your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just around the corner! And I’m happy to hear you’ll be staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel because staying in the magic is one of my favorite parts of my Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Thanks to fantastic and friendly Cast Members, delectable dining options, and legendary storytelling throughout each Disney Resort hotel, we know the magic doesn’t end when we leave the parks. And with perks like Early Theme Park Entry for Guests of Disney Resort hotels, it’s no wonder we keep returning! --Bonus points if you keep count of how many “Hidden Mickey” you find throughout your resort!

Amie, I remember in the past, when you declined Mousekeeping during your stay, you could receive a Disney Gift Card. And although this option is no longer available, you can choose to decline housekeeping service, should you wish to, without the perk of the gift card. This can be done via Online Check-In or by stopping by the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel.

Since you’re visiting during the Fall season, here’s a great article about 6 Halloween, Fall Must-Do’s at Walt Disney World

Wishing you an enchanting visit, Amie!
