Hi there! I have duplicate members of my family showing up in the my friends/family and I cannot delete one of them. I pressed update, and cancel but this did not work for one of them. What do I do?

    Hi Heather, welcome to planDisney!

If you're anything like Rapunzel, you've probably been wondering, "When will my Walt Disney World Resort vacation begin?!" I'm happy to say the answer is now, "in less than a month." Eek! I highly recommend seeing the floating lights at Harmonious in EPCOT. The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival has also kicked off, where you'll be able to experience the healing powers of flowers first-hand.

I understand you've found some duplicate family members in your My Disney Experience account. That's a common problem as various parts of the reservation and linking process can lead to individuals unknowingly creating duplicate profiles for the same individual. It happened to me recently when my father-in-law created duplicate profiles for my kids when making a Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation. We didn't realize the problem until we were having trouble accessing their reservations in the parks, at which point we stopped by Guest Relations and a friendly Cast Member helped remove the unneeded profiles. Let's see if we can find a solution that will prevent you from having to make that extra stop during your precious park time.

First, check to see if one of the duplicate accounts is listed as "Plans managed by me" on your Family and Friends list. If that's the case, click "Update" to the far right of the Guest's name and select "Share Planning with ___." You will then enter the email address associated with their real My Disney Experience account. Once your email invitation is accepted, the plans you've made for them will transfer to their Disney account. You will remain connected as Family and Friends.

If that solution doesn't work, and the "Remove from this list" option isn't working, a next-level account merge is required and a friendly Cast Member at the Website Support number, (407) 939-4357, would be happy to assist you. A fellow planDisney panelist, Jerry, also had success removing someone from his Family and Friends list via online chat. In my experience, the wait time to connect with a Cast Member via chat is less than the wait to talk to someone on the phone.

Rest assured, Heather, Rapunzel's frying pan will not be needed to remedy this situation. Be sure to reach out to planDisney with any other trip-planning questions.

    Flower gleam and glow,
