Hi Sylvia!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question about dining. I'm happy to help!
I'm excited, right along with you, that you have a Walt Disney World Resort vacation right around the corner! I'm sure you must be counting down the days until you're at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
At Walt Disney World, many dining locations do allow adults to order from the children's menu. This is generally done to accommodate varying appetites and preferences, especially for adults with smaller appetites or those who may prefer simpler or specific items from the children's menu.
While many Table-Service restaurants allow adults to order from the children's menu, it's not a universal rule. Some locations may have policies that restrict the children's menu to guests within a certain age range (usually ages 3-9). If you'd like to order for your daughter from the children's menu, simply explain your situation and ask a Cast Member at the restaurant. They can provide information on the specific policies of that establishment and let you know if they will be able to accommodate your request. I've always found them to be very understanding and kind about special requests such as yours.
Since you mentioned cake...I'd love to share with you what I consider the best cake at Walt Disney World! Coral Reef Restaurant in EPCOT has a dessert called the Chocolate Wave. The decadent, warm, flourless chocolate cake is served with a scoop of raspberry gelato and is absolutely AMAZING! The fabulous dessert is only made better by the beautiful underwater view of The Seas with Nemo and Friends.
I hope you have the most wonderful, magical Disney vacation, and that you make lots of fun memories with your daughter!
