Welcome to planDisney, Shelagh! We're glad you decided to stop by. You must be so excited about your upcoming trip to Disneyland Resort in a few short weeks!
Earlier this year, Ken Potrock, President of Disneyland Resort, announced that
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel would soon begin a
transformation with an all-new theme! It involves re-imagining the entire resort, including a Pixar-themed exterior, rooms, restaurants, and more. We haven't heard details of when this project will start, but it should be sometime this fall; hopefully, there will be more information at the d23 Expo next month.
When I spoke with the hotel front desk today, the Cast Member confirmed that the pool has reopened after its springtime makeover. She also mentioned that it is rumored to close sometime after Labor Day for the aforementioned retheming, but they haven't been given an exact date. She suggested calling the hotel at (714) 999-0990 a couple of weeks before your trip to see if they have any updates. Hopefully, you'll get to experience it! Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel has the only rooftop pool, and the California Streamin' waterslides are so much fun. Even better, you can watch the fireworks from here while the music is piped into the pool area. Guests will be shuttled over to the Disneyland Hotel for swimming if the pool is closed.
One thing you are sure to experience is a new convenient walkway into Disney California Adventure Park through an entrance across the street from the hotel. Guests can also enjoy
Early Entry 30 minutes before the official opening to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park.
Have a magical stay, Shelagh, and please come back and see us again real soon!
