My dryer is within the Hz/wattage limits of 60hz/1500 watts. My voltage is 120V which is common. I’d like to bring my hair accessories on board the Disney Magic as I’ve heard the in-room dryers aren’t powerful for thick hair. Will that be possible?

Ahoy Vicky, thanks for sailing by planDisney with your "hairy" question! Having the right hair products is essential for my happiness scale on vacation, so I completely understand the need for clarification.

There are two limits onboard for hairdryers because European and American hairdryers have different wattage standards. The limit for American hairdryers is 110V/1500 watts, and for European, the limit is 220V/2000 watts. Unfortunately, the hairdryer you planned to bring would not meet the voltage limit since it's 120V. Disney has stringent safety guidelines, so this is a non-negotiable!

Thankfully, the hairdryers in the staterooms are very good. I have thick, curly hair and have used it successfully; I just needed to add a few more minutes to my routine. Also, feel free to bring a curling or flat iron to help with styling.

If you want to indulge, stop by Senses Spa & Salon for a blowout or updo. They have fantastic stylists who are happy to take the work of styling away from you! If you have any other questions, feel free to float back. I wish you smooth sailing.
