Does the Drury Hotel in Disney springs offer transportation to the Walt Disney world marathon?

Hi there, Donna! Welcome to planDisney!

I'm so excited to hear that you're looking to sign up for a runDisney race, where every mile is magic! There's so much to consider before a race event, from the best places to fuel to transportation options. I'd love to help you with your magical plans!

Donna, while there is complimentary shuttle service to all four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks during normal park hours from The Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando, there doesn't seem to be dedicated race transportation available. When looking at the Frequently Asked Questions on the runDisney page, it states that Disney transportation is only provided to Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel, Shades of Green, Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, or Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. The best recommendation is to reach out to your hotel to inquire about shuttle service to a runDisney event or to make a reservation with a private car service/ride share service.

Personally, I think using a ride share service (such as Lyft) would give you the best experience on race day! Since runners typically hop on a bus very early to make it to the starting line (sometimes as early as 2:30 - 3:00 in the morning), this would make sure that you don't miss a minute of the magic. However, I would strongly recommend staying at a Disney Resort hotel if at all possible. There will be signs set up indicating when and where runners can expect transportation to the races, as well as dedicated bus transportation to the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo where runners will want to pick up their bib at least one day before the race. To me, staying at a Disney Resort hotel provides additional comfort and confidence both before and after the race so I can focus on the main thing – running!

As you continue planning, be sure to also check out the recommended training programs and running tips! And keep an eye on the runDisney blog for the latest news and exciting announcements.

    See ya real soon!
