We will be driving our own car and we're staying at the contemporary, check in at 3 p.m., dinner reservations at the Japanese Restaruant at Epicot at 4:30, so what is the fastest way to get there?

Hi Anne! What a fun vacation you're planning! While the monorail at the Contemporary could transport you to Epcot in 30 minutes or so, you'll then have to walk to the Japan pavilion at Epcot which could take you another 30 minutes depending on how quickly you walk. If you walked to the bus depot at the Magic Kingdom, you could take a bus to the Beach Club and then enter Epcot at the International Gateway, which would be closer to the Japan pavilion than the main entrance, but you probably wouldn't save a significant amount of time with this route. Since you'll have your car, I think driving to Epcot will be your best option. I'd still recommend you give yourself at least 50 minutes to make the trip.

Have a magical vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We're happy to help!
