Hi Twila,
Are you getting SO excited for your upcoming vacation!? You'll love getting some Florida sunshine along with a LOT of Disney magic this March!
Your question makes me smile because it's one that even after dozens of Disney vacations, my husband and I still debate. I prefer to use Disney transportation while my husband prefers to drive our van. With that said, there are some instances on which we agree. Since the parking lot for Magic Kingdom Park is across a lake and requires a boat or monorail ride after parking, we almost always use
Disney transportation when we're heading there. The buses drop you off right by the entrance, so that's a pretty simple choice to us. Or if we're arriving at a theme park at least a half an hour before it opens (and I DO advise that - you'll find the smallest crowds of the day within the first hour or two of a park opening!), we can often park close enough to the theme park to be able to walk in, especially at Epcot. That's a time where we agree to drive our own car. Also, if you have a dining reservation at another Disney Resort hotel, I'd definitely suggest taking your own vehicle because those trips can often require a transfer when you use Disney transportation. Otherwise, I'd encourage you to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable. You can always
check the My Disney Experience mobile app to see if your bus is nearby and make your decision at that point. However you decide to get there, just know that once you arrive at the theme parks, an entire day of magic and fun awaits! Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah!
Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Twila. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
