Stephanie,
Unfortunately,
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will not return. The restaurant itself was a free-standing building located between the Polynesian and
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and it was torn down a few years ago to make way for an expansion of the Polynesian Village Resort. While I am excited to see more rooms available at the Polynesian, it was a bittersweet moment for my family. It is where my now teenage daughters had their first dinner at Walt Disney World, back when they were just 2 and 4 years old.
But do not despair! Staying at the Polynesian is still a wonderful experience, as you feel transported to the islands of the Pacific Ocean! Great dinner options abound, and I can honestly say that we ended up preferring dinner at
'Ohana. The family-style feast has so many different favorites, each member of the family can find several things to enjoy. One daughter loves the Teriyaki beef, and another dove in on the chicken with chimichurri sauce. For me, it is all about the 'Ohana noodles and the chicken wings!
BONUS TIPAnother fun meal that entertains is just a boat ride away. The
Whispering Canyon Cafe over at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is a barbecue fanatic's dream. Just remember to ask for ketchup!
Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
