We will be on the Dream returning back on a Sunday and our flight home does not leave until 655pm. Is there anything to do right around Port Canaveral that a family of four would enjoy rather than spending the time sitting at the airport?

Welcome aboard, Karen! Disembarking a Disney ship is always a bittersweet morning. Your family will have had such fun onboard it will be hard to leave, but the memories will be wonderful, and hopefully you'll be able to book another Disney cruise in the future too!

Since you're not leaving Orlando until much later that day, it will be great to explore the area a bit instead of just sitting at the airport. If you are renting a car, I have a few suggestions for you. Staying around Port Canaveral, I hear that Jetty Park is a fun spot to visit. With a great swimming beach and picnic tables, this could be a good way to spend a few hours. Not too far away you'll also find Funntasia Fantasy Golf, in case you didn't get enough mini-golf fun onboard the Dream! The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is supposed to be amazing as well.

Our family would prefer to take our rental car to Downtown Disney to explore, shop, play and get one last day of Disney fun in before we fly out, so that is always an option too. It's only about 45 minutes to an hour from the port, and you'll have to head in that way to get to the airport anyway. You could always make advanced dining reservations for a character meal or other dining at one of Disney's resorts too. Some shopping, dining and then back to the airport to head home. Not a bad way to enjoy your last Disney day, Karen!

Please let me know if you have further questions before you set sail! I'm happy to help!
