On the Dream for four days in May. For formal night can my sons, ages 6 and 8, wear dark denim pants with button down shirts? That is an outfit that they would normally wear for a dressy occasion. Thanks!

Welcome aboard, Christine! Congratulations on booking your magical Dream cruise for this spring! Those four nights on the Disney Dream are a wonderful introduction to Disney Cruise Line, which will surely leaving you ready to book another Disney cruise in the future!

Your four night sailing won't have a Formal Night like many of the longer cruises do, but an optional dress-up night. Normally on Formal nights, I'd suggest a jacket and tie for the boys, but since this evening is less formal on the shorter sailings, your boys will certainly be perfectly dressed in button down shirts and long pants. Disney does ask that jeans not be worn in the main dining restaurants even on Cruise Casual nights, but if they are very dressy dark denim, I'm sure your boys will look very dapper! If you can get them to wear ties, it's a great night to wear those as well, as the dressier evenings really make for some fabulous family photos! Even Mickey Mouse will be dressed to the nines that night. Just wait until you see the Disney characters in their formal wear! It's a wonderful evening!

That all being said, you certainly will see many guests much less dressed up, and many other guests dressed in very formal attire, so falling somewhere in between is always just right!

Enjoy planning the rest of your cruise, Christine, and please stop back with any questions you might have. I'm happy to help!
