Hi Deana!
Welcome back to planDisney! We have a large collection of drawings our family has done over the years at Disney's animation classes. We enjoyed the Animation Academy experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios when our kids were little, and the classes at Disney's California Adventure.
While they were gone for a bit, you'll be excited to know that these drawing classes are back in a new and exciting format! Take the
Wildlife Express Train to
Conservation Station at Rafiki's Planet Watch at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Take some time to pet the goats, and check out the veterinary treatment room. Sometimes you'll even get lucky in the morning, and see one of the many residents of Animal Kingdom receiving care. We once watched a turtle get a blood draw!
This is where you'll find
The Animation Experience at Conservation Station. Classes are offered every 45 minutes during the day beginning an hour after park opening. Space is limited, but if you arrive and the next class is full, you can always spend time enjoying the exhibits and meeting some animal friends outside in the Affection Section while you wait for the next class. On our last visit, we made to sure to check-in at the experience desk as soon as we arrived and we were able to get into the next class. You'll be seated socially distanced from other groups, and the class instructor will have a large screen so that even families in the back should still be able to see the lesson well. You'll be led step-by-step in creating your own animation masterpiece profiling a Disney character from the animal kingdom. On our last visit, we came home with 6 amazing drawings of Dumbo! The whole family enjoys this activity and it's a unique souvenir to bring home with you.
I hope you'll find the time to include this experience in your next visit, Deana!
Have a Magical Day!
Kate
