    Are the drawing classes at art of animation still open?

    Hi and welcome to planDisney Richard!

    I am thrilled to see that you are "animated" about the drawing classes offered at Walt Disney World! My kids and I stay at Disney's Art of Animation Resort quite frequently and we used to love taking Teach to Draw class! It was so much fun to learn how to draw the Disney characters from a Disney artist!

    I called the Art of Animation Resort to check on this for you and, unfortunately, at the current time, the Teach to Draw classes are not being offered. As you may be aware, Walt Disney World is under a phased reopening, which means some of the Enhancing Extras, such as Teach to Draw, are not quite back to their regular schedule. However, I would love to suggest some other activities that you will love at the Art of Animation Resort! Check out the Movie Under the Stars, where you can watch Disney movies by the pool! You will also love the different activities offered, such as roasting marshmallows! This activity is offered in the Lion King section of the resort. 

    Also, you will be happy to hEAR that Disney's Animal Kingdom Resort offers a step-by-step Draw Your Own Disney Character class at the Conservation Station in Rafiki's Planet Watch. Of course, you will want to make your Theme Park Reservation for Animal Kingdom in advance. One additional suggestion that I have is to watch the Learn to Draw Mickey tutorials. The Disney Parks Blog has a link to the video for learning how to draw Mickey at home and it's a lot of fun!
