Hi, Carolyn! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting that you are just a couple of months away from your trip! In no time, you will find yourself packing and getting ready for the magic!
My family always chooses to purchase a
Dining Plan because of the convenience it offers. Since all of your meals have been prepaid for, all you need to worry about is choosing your favorite items from the menu! Isn't it super neat?
Children between the ages of three and nine must order from the children's menu. Both your three-year-old and your five-year-old will be expected to order their meals and are not allowed to share with you. Your nine-month-old, though, is allowed to eat from your plate. As far as gratuity goes, all parties of six or more guests are automatically charged 18% to their bill unless otherwise indicated at the restaurant.
Carolyn, I am sure your children will love the various options for
character meals. My favorite meals include Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park, Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, among others. What I love the most about character meals is that your children will feel that they are not rushed when meeting their favorite Disney pals, but that it is quite opposite, as there will be plenty of time for hugs, pictures and, of course, autographs! Remember that some of the most popular meals should be reserved up to 180 days in advance.
I hope this information has been helpful and please come back with more and more questions! We are delighted to help!
Happy Disney Dining!
~Desiree
