Will they take down the 70th celebration decorations during Halloween?

Welcome back to planDisney, Shilene! It’s never too early to start preparing for the spookiest season of the year, especially since we’re already halfway to Halloween! And when it comes to planning your Disneyland Resort visit, it should definitely be a treat, not a trick.

As you prepare for your trip, it’s helpful to know that the Disneyland Resort is currently scheduled to pause some of its 70th anniversary décor during both the Halloween and Holiday seasons. Much of the décor celebrating the resort’s milestone will be spirited away to make room for all the grim grinning ghosts and ghoulish delights of Halloween Time. If your heart is set on seeing all the anniversary décor and festivities, I recommend planning your visit before August 22 or waiting until early spring 2026, when the celebration may resume in full force.

Now, here’s a pumpkin-spiced planning tip: if your travel dates are flexible, you might want to take a peek at the current special offers for Disneyland Resort hotel stays. Guests visiting between May 16 and August 14 can save up to 20% on select stays! Should you decide to shift your travel dates, be sure to speak with a helpful Cast Member about these offers. They may be able to apply a savings potion to your reservation.

However, if your visit falls during September or October, you’ll be in for a real Halloween treat. The Oogie Boogie Bash is an after-hours event at Disney California Adventure Park that’s crawling with festive fun. While we’re still awaiting the full spellbook of details for this year’s bash, I’m especially excited for the return of Villains Grove. This eerie reimagining of Redwood Creek Challenge Trail wraps Guests in a beautifully spooky world inspired by Disney Villains. Through enchanting lighting, swirling fog, immersive projections, and a touch of Halloween magic, Villains Grove is an unforgettable experience and a must-see for any fan of the spooky season.

Shilene, I hope this information helps you conjure up the perfect fall getaway. If more questions haunt you as your trip approaches, don’t hesitate to stop by planDisney again. We’re always here to lend a ghostly hand.

Wishing you a magical and delightfully spooky visit,
    David
