Hi Doug, We are going to DS on 10/13 and I we want to see Fantasmic. I would do the pkg but, I really think our family would like the SciFi theater instead. Will crowds be bad, how far in advance should we get in line. When to ADR the drive in that night?

    Jerilyn,

October is a great month to visit, as crowd sizes are typically pretty low. Get a reservation for dinner at whatever restaurant you want to try out, and don't worry about the Fantasmic package. Besides, I don't think that the seating that they reserve for you is all that great anyway. You can get better seats if you are willing to get in line early enough.

That being said, this show's popularity, which has always been fairly high, seems to be growing. If it were me, even in October, I would consider getting in line as much as 45 minutes ahead of time. Sure, that may seem like a long time to wait, but some family relaxation can be a nice break to the vacation, and you can recap what exciting things you have done so far!

Of course there is no Fantasmic schedule posted for October yet, but if it is at 8pm, as it often is, I would say you should get an Advance Dining Reservation for the Sci Fi Dine-In Theater for around 6:30. Dinner should not take more than an hour, getting you out around 7:15 to head over and get in line.

    Have a magical vacation!
