    Hello Doug. I am proposing to my girlfriend on the top of Characters In Flight at Downtown. You said that I should have a Plan B in case of bad weather. What could be my Plan B at Downtown? (Don't want a restaurant proposal) Thanks in advance!

    Jaime,

    Boy, that is a great question! I can't think of a lot of non-restaurant ideas at Downtown Disney, but that is just because I am a food fanatic! So what would I do?

    My first idea is not at Downtown Disney, but here is what I would do;

    Get on a bus to the Polynesian Resort. When you are there, go to the Tambu lounge and get a nice cocktail (great alcohol free ones are available there as well, in case you don't drink), then walk her down to the resort's beach. Try to time it to when the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom will go off. Grab a seat on the beach, listen to the park's soundtrack that is piped in to the beach speakers, and right there, in the sand, ask.

    If it has to be at Downtown Disney, think of going down to the waterfront by Wetzel's Pretzels. You can get a more unobstructed view of the water, and of the nicely lit resorts across the way. Romance doesn't need a show, just the two of you.

    Have a magical vacation!
