Hi Doug! Wanted to get a man's opinion. Coming back to WDW April '10. Looking for luxury accomodations for less. Considering Contemporary. Want modern furnishings, spacious rooms, food availability, nice view, overall magical experience. Suggestions?

    Tinisha,

I don't know about the "for less" part of that, as the Contemporary is on the highest cost tier of any standard resort room at Walt Disney World. But I will tell you after the recent room renovation it certainly meets what you described. The rooms really match what I am used to in hotels that I stay in while I travel for work (my real day job!). The food choices are exceptional too, with perhaps the best character meal (Chef Mickey's), a good new trendy restaurant (The Wave), and my favorite restaurant in all of Florida (California Grill).

Where else could you go? The Swan is a similar hotel, in terms of room quality. You still enjoy some great nearby dining (both in the resort as well as the nearby Epcot, BoardWalk, and Hollywood Studios), and you are still in the magic, being that the resort in on Disney property. Costs here can be as high as at the Contemporary, but deals are offered far more often. Since it is a Westin-run hotel, you can use Starwood points for some free nights, if you have them!

Please feel free to send me more questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
