Hi Doug, ur responses r invaluable hope u can help! Planning last-min 1st-time WDW, g-12, b-7. I really like xmas/NY 12/25-1/1, hubby 12/17-24. Stalemate may cause us 2 throw n towel. Have both weeks off, $ not issue, hubby fears crowds will b intolerable.

    Nadia,

    Thanks for the great praise!

Sorry to go against you, but I am siding with your husband. The week of Christmas through the New Year is PACKED! The week before (the one he preferred) is still very busy, but nothing like the one you prefer. And while his week is very busy, it alt least starts out slower, and grows busy, rather than being busy the whole time.

If you take my advice and go that first week, pack more of your theme park activity to the start of the week. Then leave more of the resort time to the end of the week. And with older kids you might consider diverting towards the evening Extra Magic Hours to maximize your time in the parks. But avoid the morning Extra Magic Hours at all costs. They will be overwhelmingly crowded.

    I hope that this helps?

    Have a magical vacation!
