Hi Doug, we are travelling with my parents and have a party of 7. I have heard a gratuity of 18% is automatically added to our bill for parties over 6. Do you know about this? What if we are not pleased with the food/service.Is there a way to avoid this?

    Rebecca,

I am sure that you will find that Walt Disney World is all about you enjoying your time. If you feel that you have not received quality service worthy of the gratuity, I would suggest that you ask to speak to a manager. If you express your reservations about paying a gratuity because the meal or service has not been worthy, I am certain that they will be able to remove that charge on your behalf.

I have never had to do this, but I am sure from past encounters with restaurant management at several of Walt Disney World restaurants (both in the parks and in the resorts) that it can easily be done. I have had to discuss issues on occasion with management, and they have always been gracious and have made me feel most comfortable in doing so.

Here is to hoping that it doesn't come up!

    Have a magical vacation!
