    Hi Doug! 1st timer going to WDW in July 2013. Me, my husband, my daughter(9) & my son(4). We're doing Downtown Disney the 1st night but will then have 5 FULL days of parkhopper & waterparks. Any suggestions for planning would be appreciated. Thanks

    Ashley,

    So it is hard to say without exact travel dates, but here are some planning tips that might be useful for your family;

    • At that time of year avoid the morning Extra Magic Hours park, as it will be more crowded
    • Spend your first full day at the Magic Kingdom
    • Don't park hop that first full day. Stay at the Magic Kingdom for the whole day
    • Make sure you take afternoon breaks to keep your internal batteries charged up! Go in the early afternoon to your resort, if you are on property, for pool and nap time.
    • After that first day, spend the next three days as follows (but not necessarily in this order); pair a morning at a Water Park with an afternoon/evening at Epcot, go for a day to the Hollywood Studios, spend one morning/early afternoon at the Animal Kingdom with an evening at the Magic Kingdom
    • Make your last full day another day at the Magic Kingdom. If you really want a bit more time at one of the other three parks, you could go to them first in the morning, but then return to the Magic Kingdom, and let Wishes be the end to your PERFECT first vacation!

    I hope that this helps? Write me back with exact travel dates and resort, and I can refine further!

    Oh, and I love your arrival day plans! Perfect!

    Have a magical vacation!
