Doug, thanks for all your planning help! One more ?, do you prefer Boma or Tusker House for dinner after a day at AK? We haven't been to either one, but with little kids, buffets are best! You give the best advice!!!

    Brighid,

Either way you are going to be happy, but if forced to choose, I would go for Boma.

    Why?

Certainly from a food perspective it is a relative tie.

But I like the excuse to explore a resort, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge is one with both exotic decor and a serene beauty that is a nice end to an otherwise busy theme park day.

I also like to grab a quiet cocktail before dinner in the Victoria Falls Lounge above the restaurant. I know, Tamu Tamu Lounge is right next to Tusker House in the park, but I prefer the quieter, smaller, and air conditioned setting at the resort to feel fully relaxed.

After dinner then you can explore the animal viewing areas, sit by the campfire, and just revel in one of Disney's finest resorts.

HOWEVER, if getting back to your resort is going to be a hassle, or if you want to have some theme park fun AFTER dinner, then definitely stay at Tusker House, enjoy the wonderful meal, and then get right back into the fun. Boma can wait for another day!

As I said, both are great, so pick based on what makes most sense for your overall evening plans!

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
