    Of course it depends what time the shows are, as they vary from park to park, and season to season. But as a rule I recommend that if a show is at, say 9:00 pm, then you should try to get a good spot for watching at least 30 minutes ahead of time, 45 during busier times of year. So plan a table service meal to take an hour leading up to that, and you should be fine.

    As for Fantasmic!, since it is a theater show, you really should be in line an hour ahead of time.

    The plus here is that it is not like waiting in line. That time you spend with your family, waiting for the show, can be really magical time. You get to slow down. You get to talk. Share what you loved about your day. Get that quieter, family time, that vacations are supposed to be all about.

    And it can be really good people watching too!
