Hi Doug! Staying at POR. Want to make an 8am ressie at Tusker House, park opens at 9am. Will early bus transportation be available? Thanks.

    Jaynee,

So that is a tough one. Technically the buses to the Animal Kingdom will START running at 8 am, since the park opens at 9 am. That would certainly not get you there in time.

So here is what you should do. Rather than seeking out some convoluted transportation route, keep it simple. On the day you check in to Port Orleans, go straight to the Transportation desk. Tell them the date and time that you have to be at the Animal Kingdom park for breakfast. They will then be able to either confirm that buses will run early enough to get you there, or assist with alternate planning. Likelihood is that it won't be a standard bus that gets you there, but let them help with your plans. One other important note. Even if you have your own car, you probably will not want to drive there. The parking area at this resort is famous for not opening up early, so you could be "there" in time, but stuck waiting for the parking lot to open as your dining reservation time flies by.

Finally, if you don't feel that you are getting adequate support from the transportation desk, then the fall back would be to cab it over. It should not run you over $20, and obviously I expect that Disney will help you before it comes to this, but this can be your emergency backup plan.

BOTTOM LINE: No to the bus, or your own car. Let Disney solve it for you when you are there, and have a taxi as a backup plan.

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
