Hi Doug! Would like to stay at AK or WL but can only afford a standard room. In regard to view and location of standard rooms, which resort would you suggest? We have already dined at both resorts in the past and visited the lobbies. Thanks.

    Jaynee,

You will find that many of the standard rooms at the Wilderness Lodge either look at the parking lot, or at thick set of pine trees. Neither particularly scenic, but nothing so horrible that you can't live with it. The ones to worry a bit more about, however, are the ones that face into the lobby. They are fun to have, until the noise from the lobby restaurant (Whispering Canyon Cafe) keeps you up until later in the evening.

As for the Animal Kingdom Lodge, I find their least desirable standard rooms are not bad at all. I have had ones with odd views of roof lines, but never one where I had excessive ambient noise or horrible views. I Would say that all other things being equal, the standard rooms at the Animal Kingdom Lodge are a bit easier to stomach.

    BOTTOM LINE:
So both really would be fine, but I think the Animal Kingdom Lodge would be the better choice of of the two in this matter.

PS: Loved this question! Really made me think about it. Send a few more!

    Have a magical vacation!
