    Hi Doug! I saw you have young children so hoping you can help... Going to WDW July 17-20. Staying at Swan. Planning on Magic Kingdom on 19th and Animal kingdom on 20th - coincide w/ husband and my b-days. Have 2 yr old son- 1st trip. Any ideas/suggestions?

    Tiffany,

    I would hit Hollywood Studios on the 18th, and Epcot on the 17th, if those are part of your plan. A side benefit is that they are close to your resort (quick boat ride) so you get to start your vacation off without a lot of bus rides!

    Some other suggestions for you are the following;

    • Frequent the BoardWalk. Make sure your 2-year old can enjoy some of the early evening entertainment on the walk, as it is G-rated and great for younger kids!
    • Plan a lot of time at Animal Kingdom so that he can explore many of the animal trails, particularly Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, the Oasis, and Maharajah Jungle Trek.
    • Plan some resort pool time. The Dolphin and Swan share an underrated pool that is quite good.
    • Reserve at least one character meal. With a 2-year old boy I would recommend Chef Mickey's.

    Write me back and let me know what characters your son likes, and where you are staying, and I can provide more suggestions on attractions, restaurants, and other experiences!

    Have a magical vacation!
