Hi Doug - I've been reading your book - love it by the way! I want to surprise my husband with a trip during Star Wars weekends. Will the other special crowd coming the first weekend of June be really overwhelming all over WDW?

    Allyson,

Thanks for the kind words - flattery will get you EVERYWHERE!

The weekend that you are visiting is a fairly busy time of year at Walt Disney World, largely because of the fact that it is early in the Summer vacation season. The event you refer to, GayDays (which is not a Disney-sponsored event), does bring even more people into the parks, mostly adults. They have scheduled that Friday, June 4th, as the day that they will be visiting Disney Hollywood Studios.

What that means is that if you are headed to more kid-focused attractions, you won't see much impact. But if you are heading to a lot of thrill rides, like roller coasters, you will have a slightly larger than normal crowd to vie with for those attraction lines.

If it were me, I would visit Hollywood Studios on that Saturday, as Sunday will be a packed day in all the parks, especially Hollywood Studios, so you can see more. I would also visit Hollywood Studios on another day, if you can, so you can see the park in a non-Star Wars setting.

    I hope this helps?

    Have a magical vacation!
