Hi Deborah from Carmel! So the first trip is always the best! With kids ages 7 and 13, I really think you will want to hit all four parks. Because you have the park hopper options, hitting all four in an optimal mix of time will be much easier to accomplish. Obviously it is still a bit too early to plan out exactly what park on what day, but I would suggest you spend your first and last days at the Magic Kingdom. With your other three 'middle' days, consider doing this; a. Send one day at the Animal Kingdom in the morning, and stay through the mid-afternoon. Then go to the Magic Kingdom in the evening. b. Spend another of these days at the Hollywood Studios c. Spend the third 'middle' day at Epcot You may notice I don't plan any time for you at Downtown Disney, or at a Water Park. I do love both. So why not include? With regards to the water parks, I think it is not ideal weather in December, so save that for a future visit. As to Downtown Disney, if you really want to go you could visit in the evening of your Animal Kingdom day instead of going to the Magic Kingdom. But you are coming for your first time. I would focus on the theme parks, enjoying your resort, and saving such other 'extras' to other future visits. I hope this is a good start? Write me back if you have any follow-up questions. Have a magical vacation!
