Hi Doug. Our family has a cruise stop and can be at Disney 1p-8p on Dec 25. I am a touring plans fanatic and question even going if I'm not there at opening. Would love to give 3 kids surprise! Was thinking candlelight procession at Epcot, your thoughts?

    Kelly,

You are a girl after my own heart, thinking of taking advantage of a few hours in the central Florida area as an opportunity to visit Walt Disney World!

So the obvious though on Christmas Day for you is to not bother with the Magic Kingdom. It is likely to be at full capacity already, so it is unlikely you would even get in.

I do like the Candlelight procession at Epcot as an option, though I am concerned about timing for you getting back to the cruise ship on time. I would only try if I had the 5:00 pm showing. I am assuming that the 6:45 pm showing would be too late, considering all the transfer time needed. FYI, Gary Sinise is the reader then, which should be AWESOME!

An alternative recommendation, if you can't get the processional package for that night, is Hollywood Studios. I always find that this park enjoys comparatively lower crowds on Christmas Day. Also, they have two showings of Fantasmic!, so you could attend the 6:30 pm showing. With a 25 minute show time, you should be out by 7:00 pm.

I like that you dare to dream! Write me back if you want other ideas!

    Have a magical vacation!
